Republican Carl Parson Enters Race for Oklahoma House District 8

INOLA, OK— Local business owner Carl Parson announced today that he will seek the Republican nomination for Oklahoma House District 8 in the 2016 election.

“I am excited for the chance to serve my community in the Oklahoma House of Representatives,” Parson said. “We have significant challenges in our state, and I will be a voice for everyday Oklahomans who understand that government is not the solution to our problems."

Parson is the founder and owner of Inola Portable Buildings, a local business that has become a staple in the community on Highway 412.

When he was just four years old, Parson lost his father in a car accident and was raised by his mother in Oklahoma City. He began working at age 11 delivering newspapers to help the family make ends meet. As an adult he spent 10 years in construction before becoming a small business owner.

“My mother taught me that the only way out of poverty is hard work and sacrifice,” Parson continued. “I learned early on that personal responsibility and working hard were the only way I could take care of myself and my family. I’m running for the Oklahoma House because my neighbors and I are frustrated with the direction of our state and our country. I will be a steady conservative voice for my community and I am committed to voting for biblical principles.”

As a small business owner, Carl Parson knows that the conservative principles of hard work, sacrifice, and financial discipline are the principles that will prepare Oklahoma for the future.

“I have always run my business without debt", said Parson. "I know what it takes to meet payroll and make hard choices so that tomorrow will better than yesterday. It has become a practice in the legislature to borrow money from our children and grandchildren to make ends meet today which leads to a weak state economy and closed doors to future generations achieving success. Oklahoma must lead the nation, and that is only accomplished by wise choices - responsible budgeting, encouraging a vibrant economy, ensuring a solid infrastructure and equipping a workforce for success."

Carl and his wife Linda have been married 37 years and live in Inola, Oklahoma.
